Happy Belated Losar Tashi Delek!

March 2017

This year marks the 20th anniversary of my solo album Yarlung- Tibetan Songs of Love and Freedom, which was first released in 1997. I am proud to say that this album is still in the market and my most proud moment is when a young Tibetan newcomer from Tibet told me that until he heard my songs, he never knew that Tibet was a separate country. I will be doing some celebration activities and I hope you will stay in touch through my facebook page.

This month (March 2017), my wife Sisa Salgado and I will be doing a few gigs in New York and Ottawa, Canada. Next month, we will be touring in Ecuador and Columbia. We will write out the details in my next update.

Three of mine and my band's albums are nominated in the 2017 Just Plain Folks Music Award. The albums are: Tashi Sho-Good Luck Good Life with my band Techung and the Windhorses, Tibet-Lamla Che (which was co-written with Tsering Woeser, writer and poet based in Beijing) and Semshae-Heart Songs Tibetan Children's Music album. I would like you to check out my project's page on this website and help support my current project of recording Nangma and Toshaes, two of the traditional classical music from Lhasa.

We have high hopes for this album, and would love to either win or be nominated for a Grammy Award in the World Music category and/or other awards in world music from other world music organizations. For this we need your help to share our new album with your family, friends and on social networks. If our music inspires you, please write a short comment on our website. This will help us to reach out to more people.

Have a wonderful year!
