Techung in Tibetan

July 21, 2017

In July 2107, I was invited to perform two very cool gigs to for the Himalayan elders from New York and New Jersey. The performances took place at two locations: One in Palyul Dharma Center in New York and one in Connecticut to celebrate the His Holiness The Dalai Lama’s 82nd Birthday. I was happy to share my recorded music with them and thrilled when they bought my CD and my children’s music CD. The elders were very appreciative of my concert.

Himalayan Elder Project is a wonderful and kind initiative started by two Tibetan youth: Thupten and Thupten in NY. They now organize regular social events in the New York area for elders. Most of the elders are Tibetans but there are some from, Nepal and other Himalayan regions. I am very touched and inspired by this initiative and I congratulate the organizers and their volunteers for taking care of these elders who otherwise would not have these social activities. Visit their website www.himalayaneldersproject.org and enjoy their photos and stories.

Recently I started a very important project to record thirty traditional classical songs from Lhasa, Tibet. I consider these as endangered Tibetan music and I need your help. Please take a moment to look at this project and support and share. Your support is greatly appreciated!
